I, Organism 02:26
What if we were wrong about everything Thought up some ideas in bed Awoke from a sleep into all of our broken I, Organism pledge Not to believe Not to deceive But only to know when it’s time to leave Waste not want not, pick it up I, Organism pledge Photon slips and electron trips Photon slips through the tiny slit White light in your brain Pink noise on your hip I, Organism pledge Walkin around, slicing the ground Lookin at your feet which have bled Gliding smooth in black water Purple velvet throat pulls a thread Stranded in the station alone again No one to call the battery’s dead Photon slips and electron trips Photon slips through the tiny slit White light in your brain Pink noise on your hip I, Organism pledge

Moondust 01:49
If you go nowhere You must go everywhere Gotta wonder When the opiates’ll hit the food Soon as LeMerck fucks ‘Santo What’ll moondust do for you Same as broom dust do for you Get you some boom dust Doodely dooooooooo… Crack of thunder Gotta wonder when Will we spill Over the pot And into the flame What’ll space dust do for you Same as lame justice do for you Get you some space lust Doodely dooooooooo… If you go nowhere You must go everywhere

Daily Diet 03:40
Knock it on the head The shock of what you read The barrage of stupid senselessness Climb out the rabbit hole you dread Bullets whizzing by your head The new wave a-crashing, all see red Always crashing in the same car Maybe if I wish upon a star Take another on the chin You daily diet, they cash in Wash me clean Show another ad You ain’t sold me yet Sashay around the bend Cards on the table, place your bet Take another on the chin You daily diet, they cash in Wash me clean

Get It 01:44
Get it Get the next thing Get it get it get it get it get it get it get it Get the next thing Everyone’s a lamb Walking toward stranger things Keep your head down Cross the street Middle sentence Get lifted off your feet And fly Everyone’s a lamb Flying through the air Racing head in hand Racing toward the slaughter With a smile and a tan Check the light and look down Slap back, airbag, and a spin around Made it home To let the fridge know That the doorbell needs unwound Tell that boy to duck his head down

Violet 02:39
He will kiss her dreams away She’s falling through a purple haze She won’t hit the ground He will bite her on the ass And she won’t take it very crass She knows the bruise will fade Visions of a violet sky Reflected in the color of his eyes Wonder if he can tell Hover in the viper’s gaze He’s sinking in convoluted phrase But he will not drown She listens with short attention span He explains in the way of all of man She won’t make a sound She stares at a tiny horizon line That runs across his forehead and down his spine To a tail that wraps around Visions of a violet sky Swirl in river deep, mountain high How much more before she decides To ring the bell

Guess I’ll just lock it up now Nothing else to be done now Expository society Exposition and you lie to me Expose it all and you bore me I can’t find my way to this Surveil me when I knock on your door Tail me as I crawl on your floor I can’t find my way to this Guess I’ll just lock it up now Nothing else to be done now Surveillance nation, oh so free You gave it all up so willingly Surveil me and you lie to me For a good time call out some cruelty Voluntary disclosure Let me tell you something—

InnSaei 02:19
In the melting sun There’s nowhere to run Let me put my arms Around the one If the furnace aims to burn us Swim The sea within To see within Finds the way out Now we sleep all day Because no escape Inhabit the night Changing our shape In the rising seas There’s the acid breeze Let me find a place To put my grief In the blazing sun There’s nowhere to run Let me put my arms Around the one
9.
This Place 01:31
When the dam breaks Will the flood wake you It’s happening in this place When the planet spins us off To another show No one to blame but ourselves It’s happening In this place And the murders of crows Watch because they all know And the parliament of owls Comes to give us a bow And a kiss off And the cackle of hyenas Laugh because they all know Only a matter of time till we piss off
10.
Smile smile smile smile smile All you see is my smile smile smile No need to read Just looky at me Why can’t you see all these pictures of me I’m all up in your feed Duck lips, hair and my need All my lunches, all my locations All my feelings, all my frustration I’m so free! Here it is, me Long shots, close-ups and teeth All you ever dreamed of Front, back and between Yippee.

Take your obsessions in other directions Your worries get fueled by misapprehension Interpreting badly your body’s reaction Not farfetched when grenades are concussion With a camera in your microwave Beware yourself, it’s what you crave Thumbing words to your friends The tethering never ends Lobotomize the liars, excise the flaws Comfort the criers, retracting the claws The priests and the friars hold—safe in their arms? “Wait until the crowd cries” Honey says, “walk barefoot, look out for the shards” Grass soft on the wide side can turn and cut hard Honey says “walk barefoot” and I went too far Edges, flip the record, stab the meat Side one is a screw loose Side two is defeat Side three is machinery rattling around Till it goes off the rails, try to batten it down Side four is instrumental With a camera in your microwave Beware yourself, it’s what you crave Thumbing words to your friends The tethering never ends Wait until the crowd cries Honey says “walk barefoot, look up at the stars” Vast velvet blanket pokes holes in the scars Honey says “walk barefoot,” and I went too far

Krakatoa 02:18
One mark To start On the way to the upside Vulture swoops in and cleans up the mess Suck a bone clean on the way to redress One spark To start Wanna be an inferno 1000 steps home with a bag of bones Mama vulture gonna rearrange ‘em all alone The hits keep coming but don’t ya know You’re gonna crack it wide open like a lava flow Like Krakatoa, like Krakatoa, like Krakatoa, like Krakatoa One word That’s heard On the way to the upside Vultures catch a thermal I’m along with the ride Clean up the mess And glide Swoop swoop Rock rock

about

Von Economo's debut album is a tour-de-force of hook-laden songs that interpret and synthesize the chaos of life in the early 21st Century. She melds divergent influences into a cocktail that Bedlamb Records label-mate Erik Sanden describes as “Linda Ronstadt on acid drinking out of David Bowie’s brain.” People are starting to take notice. Sanford Nowlin (Boxcar Satan (❤️) alum and writer extraordinaire) of the San Antonio Current says, “…Von Economo’s debut shows the kind of creativity and song-craft that can snowball into a cult following.”

Produced by Von and Grammy-winning guitarist, writer, and producer Joe Reyes, the album dresses edgy rock with lush, shimmering arrangements. There is bit of glam, a bit of woozy poet, and bit of cerebral artist. Von clearly cares deeply about the lyric, always with a visual artist’s eye. Throughout she evokes vivid imagery that invites the listener to see and hear the fractured nature of life, while still holding onto hope.
